THE HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION

OXFORD BRANCH

  • We offer a varied and fascinating programme throughout the year with talks on the history of different periods and different parts of the world.

  • We utilise the expertise of Oxford's University and local historians as well as speakers from further afield.

  • We aim to serve State and Private Schools, Secondary and Primary Schools, Colleges and Universities and anybody and everybody interested in the past.

  • Whether professional or amateur, member or visitor, a warm welcome awaits you at one of our lectures.

  • We are glad to be the Voice for History in Oxford and we look forward to welcoming you to a meeting very soon.

The Oxford Branch of the Historical Association is celebrating its centenary in 2019.

The Oxford Branch was founded in the Autumn of 1919. It had one short break short break of two years from 1927 to 1929.

Over this period, we have hosted nearly a thousand historical themed lectures and talks to a varied audience of academics, students, and the general public in Oxford.
